8 Door Kitchen

A couple of days ago I posted some pictures of our kitchen. After I posted the pictures I realized that I didn't share some pictures with you......Can you believe that our kitchen has 8 doors...YES 8! This is the first door...this is our "main" door into our kitchen. The door leads to our Craft Shop and the porch of the Craft shop (the porch on the header of our blog).
Doors 2 and 3. The door with the stocking is our pantry and the other door leads upstairs to my craft room.

Close up of the stairs.
And a little hiding spot under the one step!
The latch on the doors to the pantry and upstairs.

This is the 4th door that leads to another porch on the East side of our home. I love watching the sunrise from this porch and Tim and I eat some of our meals on this porch.
And now the WALL OF DOORS! The door on the left leads to our laundry room and bathroom, the next door leads to our basement. Then the next door leads to our hallway and the last door leads into our dining room.So there are the 8 doors in our kitchen! And now some other pictures from our kitchen.
This rug was made by my Grandma "Mom" Hunter.. I love it and I loved her and miss her so muchAnd this is an old chamber pot holding a bird's nest!I hope you enjoyed the tour of our kitchen.

Love your kitchen, Patti! I just finished painting my kitchen...I only have four doors and a window and thought THAT was a lot of "cutting in". Can't imagine painting around EIGHT doors!! LOL! Love the little bird nest in the chamber pot and love that bottom step hiding place! ~~Annie

I love your kitchen....many in my family had kitchens such as yours. I can vision sitting in there in the summer time with the doors open, slight breeze drinking ice tea as my mother and aunts would chat away..!

If you get to Esbenshade's, I hope the sale is still going on. I think it just started yesterday, Friday. The check out gal was unaware of the sale and was shocked when her registered came up with "0's" for two of the plants...!! I,on the other hand was thrilled knowing what a great deal I was getting:/

Greetings from Texas!

Just found your blog, Patti & Tim. I'm enjoying reading about your Brickhouse. My husband and I have been re-doing our little farmhouse over the last 2 years, and guess what kitchen colors we chose??? Green, yellow & white! You'll have to check out some of my first blog posts to see photos. I love your home and shop. Primitives are my fave!

As far as Austin, Fredericksburg, Roundtop, Warrenton, etc. Been there done that. We lived in Austin for awhile when we were first married. LOVED it. We're back home in east Texas now. Did ya'll go to all the flea market/antique shows in Round Top & Warrenton? It's a blast! You'd love Canton, TX, too just east of Dallas - the flea market capital of the world!

I'll be back to visit. Good luck with your shop - it's so inviting!

Just found your blog from APP forum!...love your kitchen!...Now that is alot of doors!

You know the history of the one door that leads upstairs?...that was for the "kitchen" help ONLY!...back when they were usually "colored folks" as the old timers would say....and they were not allowed to mingle or be part of any of the family functions or near guests...so, they had their own entrance to the kitchen so they were unseen!...that is also why kitchen had swinging door too...so, they closed them off from others seeing them.

Interesting huh?!...boy have we come along way!
