The Splinter Shack 2

This sign was made by Tim's dad, Allen. Allen was a very talented man and he was a great woodworker.. I know this is where Tim gets his talent! Allen had a workshop that he built and he called it THE SPLINTER SHACK. He made some wonderful things..we have 2 Adirondeck chairs that he made and we have a picnic table, too..and lots of other treasures that he made. When Tim and I were living in Cedar Park, Texas, Tim decided that he wanted a little shop where he could do some woodcrafts... Tim's parents came down from PA to visit. Allen helped Tim build the shop and he made Tim this sign! How wonderful! Tim treasures this sign and all the memories he has of Allen...we miss you Allen. Allen passed away several years ago and he is missed so much. I think he would be happy to know that we are now living back home here in PA and that the sign he made for Tim now hangs on the door of Tim's SPLINTER SHACK! And I know he would be so proud of Tim and he would love our Craft shop.....Oh if only he was here to join us on our Porch for some porch sitting time!
Here is Tim hard at work in his Splinter Shanty.

And here is Tim with his Mom. She just turned 80 and we had her over for a Birthday meal. Happy Birthday Mom!
So glad you stopped by our Porch. Please stop by again...Tim is working on "THE REST OF THE STORY".....It always surprises me what he will write about! I love that he takes such an interest in our blog..thank you Tim.

My husband's dad was a wonderful carpenter too. We have things all over our house that he built for us. He passed away a year ago of lung cancer...never smoked. So we have that in common.

I wanted to thank you for signing up to follow my blog. I look forward to getting to know you better.

Thanks for coming by and visiting my blog Patti! I thought that I would come by and visit yours too! What a beautiful home and shop you have - I wish I lived closer so I could visit your shop in real life, instead of bloglife! :)
