Weed or Flower?

Legend has it that Queen Anne, the wife of King James I, was challenged by her friends to create lace as beautiful as a flower. While making the lace, she pricked her finger, and it’s said that the purple-red flower in the center of Queen Anne’s Lace represents a droplet of her blood.

A weed is but an unloved flower.

I hope you agree this is a beautiful flower and not a weed!

I agree! When I was a child, I was absolutely positive that if dandelions were not popping up for free...we'd be paying money for them! I know they're not supposed to be in a "good" yard...but they add so much sunny color, I like them!
Hope you're having a beautiful day...and staying cool ;)

I love queen ann's lace. When I worked in a flower shop I would add it every chance I got to an arrangement. I like it better then baby's breath for sure.

This is the plant hubby and I were trying to think of tonight. That is so weird that you posted about it! We Googled Hog Weed because hubby heard about how dangerous it is and we wanted to make sure we knew what it looked like in case we ever met it. But Hog weed also looked familiar, it does remind us of Queen Anne's Lace, we just couldn't think of that name. I'm not sure where I have seen QAL, but it does not grow where we live as a weed. We have dandelions and I love them. :)

Blessings, Jessica
