~~Our Little Free Library~~

Tim and I were watching the news recently. Lately it seems there is no good news to be had, but this one night there was a story about how Little Free Libraries are sprouting up in communities across the U.S. It was a feel good story and it has inspired us to give this "Take a Book~Leave a Book" idea a try.   I know we are in the age of Kindle and the Nook and the internet but to me there is nothing like holding a book in your hand..the feel of the book, the smell of a book...ahhhh I LOVE books!
We plan on building a little box to house the books but for now we have this box....so stop by the Brickhouse and Take a Book and Leave a Book!

We will have the Library Box on the porch of the Shop everyday...so stop by and check out a book....no library card needed and there will be no fines..all we ask is that you enjoy the book and share it with another person or you could return it to our Library box. We would love if you could share a book with us and we are looking for books for young readers, too.

What a great idea! Maybe we'll do the same here in Michigan. Wouldn't it be great if many shops would get on board? Thanks for sharing, Dawn

Such a fun idea! My version of this is to leave books at the laundromat for others to find and take home if they wish. But I LOVE your idea!

Hi Patti, I saw the same story on TV--a great idea--bravo for putting it into action! When I was a kid there was nothing like bringing a stack of books home from the library and getting lost in them...the black stallion series, The Bobbsey twins, the little house on the prairie and LOTS more!! LOVE books!!:)-Jan

I love the idea too. A mini-library with no rules, fantastic!
