I think I may start a new hobby...Hooking...RUG hooking that is!
This morning TARRAH picked me up and we headed down I~81 to meet up with TERESA. Tarrah was so excited because Teresa was taking us to a "wool place". That is all I knew that it was a wool place and Tarrah could not wait to get there. It was hard for me to be excited since I didn't know anything about rug hooking, but it was a nice day and I was spending it with two of my friends....WELL..this is the place that Teresa wanted to show us...Grant Street Woolworks in Chambersburg, PA. We met LINDA the lovely owner of this neat place. She was so friendly and even took time to show me how to do some hooking...I think I could easily become hooked on hooking! I am SO happy I went on this road trip today and so happy to meet Linda and visit her Shop.
Strips of wool for a table runner that Linda is working on.
I LOVE this rug!
Teresa checking out all the wool. Notice how well behaved she is acting?
AND then there's Tarrah!!!!.....not quite as well mannered as Teresa!
Not sure what Teresa and Tarrah are talking about but they look so serious!
There sure was a lot of conversations among the Hooking Ladies. Since I am new to this hooking stuff and I had no idea what they were talking about, I did some wandering around the Shop. The building is a really old building and there were antiques scattered about and there was an OLD elevator..next time I am taking a ride in that elevator!
On Thursdays people can come and sit around the many tables that are set up in the store and they can work on their projects..shortly after we arrived a lady comes in and sets up her rug hooking supplies at one of the tables. I saw that she had a copy of the new SIMPLE LIFE MAGAZINE and she was showing it to Linda. I told them that I just started to sell the magazine in my Shop. The lady asked me about my Shop and get this...she told me that she found out about this new magazine because she follows my BLOG! I posted on my blog about the magazine and she read about it and then she ordered a subscription for herself. What a small world. Her name is PAT and she has a blog, Hook, Hand and Heart. WHAT a nice lady! I could have talked with her all day. Here she is working on a really neat rug. Pat if you are reading this..I was so happy to meet you and talk with you. I hope you do stop by The Brickhouse when you are in my neck of the woods.
Pat giving Teresa and Tarrah the fine points of rug hooking!
Linda it was so nice meeting you and visiting your Shop. Thank you for the demonstration of your rug hooking. I am sure we will be back to visit you and your Shop again.
I had a great day today with two great friends...Thanks Teresa and Tarrah you both were a cure for my Winter Blues. See ya next week for another ROAD TRIP!! I can't wait!

It sure was a fun day!!!
I always wanted to be a hooker too - but I don't know anyone near me that does it!!
Loved finding your blog and seeing the rugs.
I visit Pat's blog often.
I have never heard of the Magazine, but I am going to look it up.
I have been hooking for almost 3 years and can't seem to get enough of it.
I live in an area where we have a wonderful wool store. Saltbox Primitive Woolens.

Thanks for visiting my blog! I am so wanting to learn this craft, too! There is not a place near me that does this and I'm so jealous of that great shop you were in.
Hi Patti,
WOW! I can't express how much fun it was to talk with you and Tarrah and Teresa yesterday! Now I need to spend some time reading back through all of your blogs.
I do hope all of you come back again and visit Linda's shop. We are always happy to have visitors, whether potential new hookers or just friends who like to sit and talk.
I will certainly make the trip up the river to visit your shop when the weather gets warmer.
Can't wait to see it!!!

Your title had me burst out laughing.
I even read it out loud to my husband.Yes, dirty mind here..lol.
"whose that?" he says to me when I shared what you wrote..
"you know, the one that I love her porch and her and hubby are doing the same thing we are hoping on doing ourselves"
'Oh'..lol
that is just SO neat about the lady following your blog and you ended up meeting her like that.
Love Tarrah's pose,,something I would be doing,,lol
Sure looks like you had a great day with some awesome ladies...
Wish I could have joined in...THAN sat on your porch..well IF the snow is gone that is,,lol
I think you both look great! I would love to hook someday!
I hope to make it up to your shop this spring/summer - I enjoyed your post. I had the opportunity many years ago to attend a rug hooking shop up in Vermont where a very talented hooker (lol) helped me complete my first and last project - a chair pad I still display in my home. I so loved the craft, and now it's great to know there is a place I can go that isn't too far from me!
