A Peaceful Saturday Morning

Good Morning! What a nice sunrise this morning.

Thursday night and Friday afternoon we had some heavy thunderstorms. Here is the corn field this morning.....a little wet!
I was sitting in the kitchen this morning enjoying the sunrise and listening to the birds sing their morning songs....UNTIL there was a fight in the herb garden. We have a birdhouse that houses a family of sparrows.
Mr. and Mrs. Sparrow.

It seems like this birdhouse is very popular. Mr and Mrs Bluebird have decided to check out the neighborhood and they seem to like this house. This is a picture of Mrs Bluebird checking it out. Mr Bluebird is in a FOWL mood this morning. He has been fighting with Mr Sparrow over this house.



I was not able to get pictures of the fight.....but I did get pictures of the Bluebirds checking out other birdhouses in our herb garden and I just noticed that they are checking out the birdhouses that we have on the porch of the Brickhouse Craft Shop. I am thinking today when our customers come by to pick up their birdhouses they may end up taking home a bird, too!! Jennie is coming today to pick up her Church birdhouse...she may have a surprise in hers.....the Bluebirds!

If you look close you can see Mrs Bluebird on the roof of the Church.I don't see or hear any more fighting..so I think peace has returned to the herb garden...for now! May you all have a peaceful Saturday.

A few new things at the Shop

Happy Friday Everyone! I hope you all are having a good day. Tim and I are hoping for a busy weekend at The Brickhouse Craft Shop. The last couple of weekends it has been slow at the Shop...SO if you are in our neck of the woods this weekend please stop by and say hi...we would love to meet you.

Tim has been busy in his Splinter Shack...here are some of the new things that he has made. This is a Church birdhouse he made for one of our favorite customers, Jennie. I think she is going to love it...if not I am keeping it!

A butterfly house made for another of our customers..she is on her way to our shop to pick this up so I wanted to get a picture of it before she takes it home. This was the first one Tim ever made...it came out really nice!

A Special Day!

51 years ago today a wonderful thing happened...Tim was born on May 23, 1958. I am so proud to be married to such a wonderful man..Proud to be his wife!

I love her artwork and her blog and now I will own a piece of her art...I am so happy and so excited. Thank you Benadetta, I am so happy! (I pray that your mom will be ok and feeling better soon.)

It was a very slow weekend at the shop this past weekend....I did manage to get some yard work done...planted some basil and tomatoes and now there is frost/freeze forecast for tonight...come on it is MAY..is should be warm not cold.

Tim spent the weekend at The Hunting Camp doing some serious male bonding. I missed him so much this time..normally I like the alone time when he goes away but for some reason I was really missing him.....!!

I hope you all have a nice Memorial Day Weekend....no plans here..hoping to be busy in the shop and hoping to get some more yard work done.

Tim has been busy!

Tim has been one busy guy....he is working hard to make things for our Shop and our customers. I thought I would share some pictures of some of the things he has been crafting.

I love this little house Tim made..This one is mine! Now he needs to make some for our Shop!

The Churches are wonderful! They are lighted houses...my pictures do not do these justice..you have to see them in person..love 'em!

Birdhouses made from old reclaimed wood and old tin...Our customers are buying his birdhouses...he can't make them fast enough! One great thing about these is that Tim makes a clean-out...so they are functional birdhouses. Great job Tim! By the way, the picnic table the bird houses are sitting on was made by Tim's dad, Allen.

The Splinter Shack 2

This sign was made by Tim's dad, Allen. Allen was a very talented man and he was a great woodworker.. I know this is where Tim gets his talent! Allen had a workshop that he built and he called it THE SPLINTER SHACK. He made some wonderful things..we have 2 Adirondeck chairs that he made and we have a picnic table, too..and lots of other treasures that he made. When Tim and I were living in Cedar Park, Texas, Tim decided that he wanted a little shop where he could do some woodcrafts... Tim's parents came down from PA to visit. Allen helped Tim build the shop and he made Tim this sign! How wonderful! Tim treasures this sign and all the memories he has of Allen...we miss you Allen. Allen passed away several years ago and he is missed so much. I think he would be happy to know that we are now living back home here in PA and that the sign he made for Tim now hangs on the door of Tim's SPLINTER SHACK! And I know he would be so proud of Tim and he would love our Craft shop.....Oh if only he was here to join us on our Porch for some porch sitting time!
